Cut mode — trim a yap by selecting words
If you'd rather edit by hand, Cut mode lets you select words right in the transcript to remove them from the export.
Open Cut mode
In the Editor, click the Cut tab (next to AI Cut). The transcript becomes selectable.
- Click and drag across words to mark them for removal.
- Shift-click to extend a selection.
- Click a removed word to un-cut it.
The video preview updates as you select, so you can hear how it'll play before exporting.
When to use Cut mode vs AI Cut
- AI Cut when the yap is long, rough, or you want a fast first pass.
- Cut mode when you know exactly the bits you want gone — a misspoken word, one bad take, a name you can't use.
You can stack them: run AI Cut first, then refine in Cut mode for the last 10%.
What about half a word?
Yapflo cuts on word boundaries from the transcript, not partial syllables. If you need a frame-precise cut, export the EDL or FCPXML and finish in Premiere or Resolve.
